The ground‑rail welding workstation is an intelligent robotic welding solution developed Intelligent Manufacturing for steel‑structure fabrication. Equipped with self‑developed GBZZOS operating system, SmartWeld software, vision cameras and laser sensors, it supports direct programming from 3D digital models instead of heavy manual teaching. It is well‑suited for automatic welding of large‑size steel components such as H‑columns, roof beams and box beams.
The workstation consists of ER6‑2000 6‑axis welding robot, 6‑meter ground‑rail 7th‑axis travelling system, Aotai NBC‑500RP welding power source, high‑duty TELMA water‑cooled welding torch, vision sensor unit and electric control cabinet. The robot provides 2010 mm maximum reach, 6 kg payload and ±0.05 mm repeat positioning accuracy. The ground rail adopts rack‑and‑pinion plus linear‑guide transmission. Overall dimension is 6×1×1.2 m with total power of 17 KW and maximum working envelope of 6.5×1.2×0.3 m. Average daily welding output reaches 140‑200 meters.
Laser vision tracking compensates assembly tolerances for fillet welds and multi‑layer multi‑pass welding. Synchronized motion between robot and ground‑rail 7th‑axis greatly extends working reach. Dual‑station workflow allows loading‑unloading during welding to raise equipment uptime. Uniform bead formation lowers rework rate and reduces occupational hazards for welders compared with manual welding.
Proven in real‑world projects for steel‑structure manufacturers such as Hangxiao Steel Structure and Guosheng Steel Engineering. Modular layout simplifies on‑site commissioning with fast program switching for different workpieces. It serves as a flexible intelligent welding choice for long‑seam steel‑structure production.
