The dual‑robot gantry intelligent welding workstation is a gantry‑mounted collaborative robotic welding equipment for building steel‑structure and bridge heavy‑industry. It is purpose‑built for long‑seam welding of heavy large‑size components such as H‑beams, box beams, crane girders and bridge plate units. Two 6‑axis welding robots are installed on the gantry crossbeam. Working with long‑travel X‑axis travelling system, robots can operate synchronously or independently to greatly improve production capacity for heavy steel parts.
The workstation adopts two 6‑axis welding robots, each with 2010 mm maximum reach, 6 kg payload and ±0.05 mm repeat positioning accuracy. The gantry travelling system uses rack‑and‑pinion plus linear‑guide transmission. Overall dimension is 24×7.5×3.9 m with total power of 30 KW and maximum working envelope of 22×0.5×0.45 m. Average daily welding output reaches 140‑200 meters. It is equipped with dual‑set MIG/MAG welding power sources, water‑cooled anti‑collision torches, laser vision seam‑tracking system, torch cleaning‑wire‑cutting station and integrated electrical control cabinet.
Laser vision tracking compensates cutting and assembly tolerances to deliver stable fillet welds, lap welds and multi‑layer multi‑pass welding. Long‑travel gantry movement enables full coverage for wide workpieces. Overhead‑crane loading simplifies fixture setup. Water‑cooled torches support non‑stop long‑cycle production and reduce spatter‑related defects.
Modular integrated structure ensures convenient assembly and commissioning. Gantry travel and span can be custom‑made. It replaces strenuous manual welding with consistent weld quality and lower rework rate, mitigating the shortage of skilled welders. As a proven intelligent welding solution, it fits mass‑production requirements for bridge and building steel‑structure manufacturers.
